Is an iPhone 3 still worth having?

I'm trying to get a smartphone for my non-tech mum!

I want to be able to send pictures in a reliable foolproof way. Her current old phone is unable to cope.

I've seen a iPhone 3, unlocked, for £80, with 90 warranty. I thought I could put Whatsap on it, and insert her current SIM card for foolproof usage.

What do you think?

What's app won't down-load onto an iPhone 3 as the soft ware on the phone (not upgradable) won't support it!

You need to find a 3GS or preferably a 4!
