I know this has probably been done before, but here is a picture of the compensator that I have just removed from my car (51-plate) alongside the Arctic replacement one, showing that the old one had stretched by some 13mm. New one is now installed and working well. Thank you.

Old one will be in the post to you in the next few days.

This post by David should be kept as a sticky
It's the picture which explains why many many members can't or won't ever
Achieve a decent working handbrake

Had a bit of a fight with the carpet but all was well in the end, with the SS compensator in place. Took a couple of hours.

I will, however need to get a set of clips for the carpet kickers as I can't get any of the kickers to slide back in place.

Thanks again Arctic

Thanks Arctic for the compensator. Managed to finish it Sunday morning was quite straight forward once I'd got the carpet up. The old compensator was about 14mm longer.

Handbrake still not working brilliantly as I think the new shoes need to bed in a bit more and I may need to adjust at the wheels again. I'll give it a few days and see how it goes.

Default Handbrake compensator

Many thanks to Artic for supplying the modified HC. Hard graft fitting on your own, especially in the weather we're having, but it's done now, cheers

Quick post to say, Alan P, Steve K, I managed to get to the post office for you both on Friday, I do not know if you will have received your SSC by Yesterday ? if not hopefully first thing Monday.

Alan M, your will be posted first thing Monday morning

I usually stop posting out on a Thursday so items do not get stuck in the post depots over the weekend but as I say good luck cheers Arctic

PS Steve Just read your email yours arrived
