Default Mazda CX 5

Hi all,
long shot here, has anyone on the forum have any knowledge of The Mazda CX5, or know anyone who has had one?
After selling my other 75 earlier in the year, I have finally decided that this car is in my top 3 used car replacements (there is a valid reason why an SUV is needed).
It appears to be a very good car, with the odd niggle (and a dull as dishwater interior!).
Any input appreciated.
Thanks
Paul.

I hired one a month or so ago. Lots of road noise and no more economical than a 3.2 Shogun over a 1000 mile week.

Default Test drive

Had a quick spin in one, from a near(is) dealer.
Not the right spec, colour, or engine to the one I would like, but , to be honest, it drove really well, with a lovely gearbox.
I can confirm, from being inside one now, that the interior, especially the dash, although nice quality, is boring.
And, as it was at a dealer, overpriced.
If I can drive the correct spec, it may be the answer to my need for a taller car.
Or I could wait till I win the lottery Tuesday, and buy a Kodiaq.

My advice is hire one for a weekend and do some miles.
I would have dismissed claims of how good a Hyundai i40 is if I hadn't used one for a week, apart from its dual clutch gearbox on the one I had.

Thanks,
It's one of my top 3, but finding a clean one is proving surprisingly difficult.
Or maybe I am expecting too much.
The average price for a decent new SUV is around £30K, and it amazes me how many owners treat the insides as you would a wheelie bin, and to me , if you can't look after the interior,
There's little chance the mechanical parts have been cared for.

Default Cx 5

Update on my search....
found the right spec, in good condition and with low mileage, which drives superb.
Now the low(ish) mileage worries me,which shouldnt, but it does. And thats for one reason, and thats the DPF.
The car is just over 3 years old, which is when the DPF , if the car hasnt been driven correctly, is due to start playing up.
Anyone have any experience,or knowledge of a modern Diesel?
Should I opt for a petrol (and in this cash miss out on some nice options on this particular car).
Never thought the scare mongering would worry me, However, DPF failure can be expensive.
I have been looking for quite a while now for the right SUV, and the best ones are fitted with Diesels.
Thanks
Paul

Not the same car but a Peugeot fitted with a DPF needed refilling and then set up on the computer to delete the "Fault" message and the cost was £325.So they dont come cheap.
