Try here Jules :- http://outcat-cs.tecdoc.net/ows/en/1...dexFramesetJsp Select vehicles > rover > 75 > 2.0 cdt or 2.0 cdti > electrics > alternator parts For your 120 amp version click on 439301 the lower of the two listed in the panel > article information. As your can see for the 120 amp version it references AV1234, SG12B080 which is the earlier 115 amp as a trade no, for direct replacement. The new listed Rimmers no for a replacement 120 amp alternator fitted to later rovers is as you've requested, now ends 26 as opposed to 260. Click on the contact address tab to see if they will ( but I doubt ) supply a replacement reg pack. The other item numbered 437227 for CDT lists it also suitable replacement for YLE000260 (now YLE00026 at Rimmers ) but with a charge output of 100 amps. So it looks like any aftermarket voltage regulator pack, for any of the diesels OEM alternators crossed referenced by Valeo will fit yours, as they are similarly rated at 14v. The amperage output / demand as far as I am aware, is controlled by the PCM element of the ECU. The amperage output from your existing 120 amp Alternator cannot be effected by a replacement brush regulator pack, ( only worn brushes etc ) as it only limits voltage output, set at around 14 v. Snagger.

Finally got mine out, I've found a regulator here
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLTAGE-RE...-/321220740183 But the part number didn't match. Mine is 2542823B or 2542219. Is this still the correct one?

I did change the slip rings - it is a bit tricky as the old ones are glued in to the rotor shaft, and took a bit of getting out. I've had a couple of alternators apart now and the slip rings look like they will last out a second set of brushes. So the rebuilt alternator is currently on the shelf as a back up. |

I hope to get another alternator to overhaul to dothe same myself. I have seen a number of posts regarding alternators since I changed my brushes a few weeks ago. When changing I noticed some wear on the slip ring and did some googling. other members may find the following usefull. Brushes available here: (£2.99 aset delivered) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VALEO-ALTE...3D231384591971 Valeo brush replacement video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVvPzwtxdrM Kit including brushes Slip & bearings around £17 delivered) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-REPAIR...item25753958e1 Valeo slip ringreplacementvideo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f56-26I6idc I know the brushes are the correct size but am not sure on the listed slip ring kit. Mike:Would you have the old slip ring available to confirm size? |
