Default 3rd Party Amps with OEM Head Unit & Connections

Just been perusing the net for a replacement BMW connector, the one thats behind the dash and came across a site selling the various connectors. Not what I needed as I wanted just the connector and pins but it did say "not suitable for amplified systems". Why would this be? My immediate thought was perhaps OEM systems use the live wire already in the loom, so the rating of the cables used in the adapter wouldn't be suitable. Do you think this would be right? The only other cables coming up through the connector would be the speaker cables which I wouldn't have thought posed a problem.

So if you took a separate live to the boot do you think the connectors would be OK?

Still umming and arring over a 3rd party amp or factory HK setup but my quest for connectors has left me stumped.
