Hopefully this will work, and save Colin the trouble of uploading and swapping again.

Folks I frankly don't have time to download and reupload several hundred images and then go searching for them within the forum to place them right.
As above the PDF's are essential and I hope will benefit the forum.

Excellent, thanks for the pdf, I wouldn't have been able to remove the door panel without it.

Excellent guide this, thank you, Colin. I downloaded the PDF for the pictures.
For my own addition l found an old post on another forum recommending BMW type clips for the 75 over the originals so l went for these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10x-BMW-5...=2008931595008 They fit nicely & hold on tightly as l found on having to remove one of the panels again to retrieve the window wiring. Also l could not fathom why a fir tree clip was used for the top rear corner so l replaced them with extra panel clips which seem to do the job & come out without breaking. Yet another thing, l found fitting the door handles back in last was extremely difficult but couldn't see why. On the last panel l fitted the handle before l replaced the door panel which then fitted straight back on with no problem. So take your pick.

Back again,
Apologies for resurrecting this thread, but I am having terrible trouble trying to remount the driver's door card, which I removed to rectify the link between the 'private' lock and the latch. My problem is that when I thump the middle of the card, one or both of the black clips fall off. I've lost track of how many times it has happened, but it is extremely frustrating. I'm sure the clips are mounted correctly on the steel plate - flat face towards the card and rounded corners upwards. Any thoughts on where I'm going wrong, please. Perhaps my 'thumps' are too feeble, but I don't want to damage the door. Derek |

Derek make sure the funnel side of the clips face the door and not the card

Thanks, Jules.
Yes, ' funnel side of the clips face the door' = 'flat face towards the card', so you confirm that I've orientated the black clips correctly. Back to the mini-garage to try, try, try again! Derek |

Hello 'mauzao',
Seeing that you are in Portugal, I would suggest you try your local BMW dealer. Otherwise, send me a PM. I inadvertently over-ordered recently and have several I can spare. Postal systems may be slow during the current crisis. Derek. |
