Default 75 Grille Badge Removal

Just wondered if it is easy to take the grille badge off without damaging it.
I am getting a chrome grille and want to put my existing badge on. Took the old one off to sus things out and not sure how the badge is fastened in place.

If I cant get it off are they easy to find.

Its a 2003 connie se tourer with the original style badge on.

Thanks
Chris

If you mean the nice domed one with the viking ship and '75' over it, it will certainly come off. It's stuck on with a self-adhesive foam backing. You should get it off by 'cutting' through the foam with fishing line or dental floss (yep dental floss!).You may have to lever up the edge a bit to get started. The rear face has two projecting lugs which simply go into retaining holes in the boss underneath. The residue of foam will take a bit of shifting. Try soaking it with white spirit for a few hours.

Refitting the badge to the new grill will need some foam tape like Sellotape Sticky Fixer Strip.

Default Badge removal

Thanks TC thought it might be stuck on. Guess the 1MM double sided number plate fixers that Halfords sell would stick it as well.

Suppose the badges are hard to come by now.

Thanks John most helpfull as always.

Think I might go for a new one as I don't want to spoil the ship.

Can always either sell the old grille or keep it to put back on the car if I ever get another one.

Ive ordered the chrome grille from Katmotorsports in Doncaster and think it will look classy on the front of Connie.

All the best and thanks again.

Chris
