after reading that, am I to gather that at low temps the fbh is used at start up to warm the coolant quicker?
my car gets warm air from -5 cold start in about 3 mins. does this suggest the fbh works.
I need to do more research but id love a way of it coming on by a timer in the mornings or even a switch would be ideal.

I seem to recall that there was an article about turning it on via text message.

Anyone shed any light on this ?

The FBH comes on at 5 degrees or less but only when the engine is started,You should be able to hear the FBH running after a couple of minutes..sounds like a roaring sound from under the bonnet...If you are getting warm air after a few minutes at -5 then it would indicate a working FBH..

If the FBH’s exhaust is getting hot it must be running.

Be careful not to burn yourself on it though.
