Default CDTi fuel filter connector leaking

Since changing the fuel filter I have noticed a veeeeery slow leak from the connector going into the back of the filter housing. Only noticed it because there is diesel in the groove around the top of the filter.
I can wiggle the connector quite a bit more than the front one.

From memory I think there is an o-ring around the connector. I haven't been able to find anything relevant on line, but I will measure it - I'll probably measure the front one - and hopefully it will match up with a standard size. Has anyone else had this or know what size it should be, or could there be something else wrong with the connector?

Thanks
Van

Hi Van.
Remove the connector and check to see if the O-ring is still in tact, also are you sure when fitting the new fuel filter to the low pressure unit which screws into the filter was the little O-ring present also.

In addition to Steve's sound reply - I have seen a number of these over the years with cracks on the upper housing that the filter screws on to, some don't leak at all even when they look totally beaten up, but some have been a suprise the way they leak. Some of the housings show vice grip marks on the housings where they have been put into a vice too tight to remove the stubburn filter.
Maybe worth a check.
