No problem I thought I will just use the standard 4 pin relay, but I can't find an ignition live power supply. The fuse box in the engine is all permanent live and high voltage fuses, the glovebox fusebox is hidden behind the dash and only a few are accessible. They are all mini blade fuses so cant test them with a live to earth lamp. So tomorrow I have to go and get a self switching relay from Halfords.
Turns out my van hasca euro 6 compliant engine and has a "smart" alternator. This means when the vehicle decelerates it pumps up to 17v into the battery which is ceramic rather than lead acid. Using an ordinary 4 pin relay or split charge relay would fry the leisure battery. The solution is to buy whats called a battery to battery charger which reduces the amount of voltage from the starting battery going into the leisure battery. Trouble is they cost about £165 So for now its just going to have to get charged by ordinary trickle charger each night until I can afford the real thing.

Evening all, just sat watching crufts on the telly, at last something worth watching instead of all the doom & gloom.

Yes, and thankfully it wasn't a 'tarted up' pooch that won.

Aye like the poodle and the Bichon. I prefer the big dogs like the mastiff anscIrish setter. Did you watch the racing earlier? There was a B C competing.

Morning folks, light frost here but quite pleasant out.
Didn’t sleep well although I should have done with how tired I was/am, the curse of Wetherspoons chicken strips.
I don’t know what’s in them that disagrees with me but I fall for it every time “ooh I’ll have chicken strips” and I always have a night of acid reflux & poor sleep.

Get acid reflux too Col, mainly triggered by too hot or too strong coffee, certain pastries set it off too. Milk usually quells it for me. I had terrible sleep last night too, was really tired went to bed about 11; listened to music for about 30 minutes then turned it off but couldn’t sleep. I got up about 1.30 and got a drink, then sat watching tv for about 20 minutes before going back to bed,I slept after that but don’t know why i couldn’t earlier.
