Im wondering if Land Rover or Range Rover dealers would have the T4 diagnostic machine??

Anyway.. I measured the transmission Connector pins. I only have a cheap multimeter and it wouldnt og to "zero" when I put the tips together. It was of by 0.5 ohm.
I did the test as it was, and all seems well within tollerance except the last Three, but I think thats because of the bad multimeter..

18 & 15 measured 3.7
18 & 16 measured 3.7
18 & 17 measured 14.0
Engines are the same, it's the engine tune that's different and that's within the ECM (engine ECU)

Land Rover dealers probably will have a T4 but might not have the correct diagnostic lead or MGR software.

There's clearly a communication issue possibly between the auto gearbox ECU, the ECM and/or the speedo unit (IKP), Not sure if auto selection indicator is done via the K bus, if it is then any ECU on that bus could be the culprit. You've done the right thing in doing basic checks on the solenoids.

The PRND234 is probably missing because the instrument cluster has been replaced from a manual car which also had traction control, hence the warning light.

I`ve entered the diagnostic mode by using the reset button in the instruments..

In point 1.4 "week and year of manufacture" it says 4099.

I Guess that means it was prodused in late 1999.

Is the diagnostic mode Connected to the ECU?? If so the "traction Control" fault must be something else. And the ecu is from the correct year at least?

I`ve also read about the problems With a drowned ecu (plenum draining). There seems to be a lot of water in the plenum area of my car. Should I take out the ecu and rinse it then dry it some how? Maybe With Electronic cleanser or something?

First of all clear the blockage in the drains to discharge the trapped water (search the forum using keyword "plenum"). Next open the bonnet and boot and wait for the red LED indicator on the sat. nav. disc drive to extinguish. Now remove the negative connection to the battery. Carefully unplug the ECM (Engine Control Module) and put it in a warm place for 24 or 48 hours; an airing cupboard is ideal.
