Hi Sean/Jeff
Now I am even more confused than ever.
I have just transferred 3 Jpegs and 20 wma files onto a 32 GB micro sdhc card. When I plug it into the head unit the screen displays a sort of table but with nothing in it.
Am I doing something wrong?
Should that card work in the unit, does it need formatting or where do I go from here?
Best regards
Tom

Further to my previous post, I have just tried a cd in the unit and it immediately displayed a table similar to the one for the sd card but this time it had the cd in the left table and a list of tracks on the right hand side.
Regards
Tom

Hi Tom,

When you put an sd card in you have to wait a minute whilst it downloads the info
In the top left corner it usually shows a percentage of download.

Hi Jeff,
If I have the radio playing and insert the sd card the unit immediately switches to the sd input with the MG Logo and searching for a few seconds. Then it switches to the blank table and no further activity however long I wait.
Regards
Tom

Hi Tom,

When I get to work tomorrow I'll do some more digging for you
In the mean time if you take your gps card out and put it in the sd slot does the unit read the contents of that card?

Hi Jeff,
Just tried that and it gives exactly the same results as the other card, just an empty table.
Regards
Tom

Has anyone any further suggestions on this problem as I am going on a 750 mile round trip in the very near future and really would like some music to make the journey a bit less stressful.
The radio is not exactly a great deal of use on that sort of journey not having rds and cds are very cumbersome.
I am seriously beginning to think that it is a faulty unit.
Many thanks
Tom

There is a quick solution for your road trip.
The cd deck also plays dvd's so you could copy 4.7 gb of mp3 audio onto a dvd disc presuming your pc has a dvd writer on it.
This isn't a cure for the fault, just a work around until we find the solution.
It's a bit of a strange one but I'm working on it Tom

Do you have a mobile phone connected to your dd unit. If you do, you could play the music from your phone via Bluetooth to your dd unit. Of course it depends on what phone you have. I use an iPhone and find that playing music via Bluetooth is exceptional quality
Again, doesn't cure your fault but could give you some music.

Thanks for the suggestion Steve, unfortunately I don't own an iPhone, a bit too expensive for me, just have an a HTC Wildfire. However, I thinks Jeff's suggestion of recording a dvd of music is fine as a temporary measure.
My real worry is the fact that the unit is not functioning as it should and although I can't prove it, I believe it has been this way from new. The only reason I haven't noticed it is because this is the first time I have tried to use these functions.
Best regards
Tom
