Default Coolant loss traced, help please.

Hi all,

While fitting my Pierburg Maf this morning, I checked the coolant level and found the expansion tank to be empty!

I did a bit of searching and have located what I believe is the reason for the coolant loss.

On the attached picture, the large pipe with the red arrow, is connected to the top drivers side of the radiator, the coolant is bubbling out from the seal between the pipe and the radiator, circled red on the picture.

I have 2 questions,

1. Can I remove this pipe to replace the seal without taking front bumper off etc, I undid the two bolts holding it, but the bolts just screw into 2 loose nuts and I'm afraid of not being able to relocate the bolts as i wont
be able to hold the nuts in place to replace the bolts.

2. Where can I get this seal from, is it available from Xpart and can I purchase the seal on its own?

Thanks for your help.

It looks like a radiator leak to me without going into it deeper.

It's not the actual radiator that is leaking, but the seal where pipe connects to the rad is bulging out and thats where leak is coming from.

No-one any ideas?

I've looked but can't seem to find anything that will tell me a part number for this seal or if its available seperately and if so where from?

Does anyone know of anything that can be used to help seal this if I can't replace the seal? Any sealant or similar product?

Sorry Chris not come across this problem before, so I can't help.
But it has prompted me to act now & source some O rings in Viton incase we need them during a members service.

And to think I've scrapped 3 radiators in last 2 years thinking I'd never need that top elbow for anyone

Thanks Jules. Do you happen to know of any product that can be used to seal these joints apart from the rubber seal in place. I'm thinking something like a silicone sealant, but a product that will be up to the job?

Would this stuff work to form a seal around the connection instead of dismantling?
