Arrow Second Club National Meet Sunday 18th September

Announcing the 11th National Meet on Sunday 18th September 2011

The 2nd National Meet of 2011 will be held on Sunday September 18th
at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum, Flixton, Bungay Suffolk.
Between 10am and 5pm

The Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum is recognised as East Anglia's Aviation Heritage Centre.
Maintained and run by volunteers, with one paid staff member, the Museum celebrated its 35th Anniversary in 2007.

Constituting an impressive collection of aircraft and equipment, the Museum also displays in separate buildings,
themed collections for the Royal Observer Corps No. 6 Group, the 446th (H) Bomb Group USAAF,
RAF Bomber Command, RAF Air-Sea Rescue & Coastal Command, and local aviation through the years.

There are also numerous exhibitions on special subjects including
WWII Decoy Crews, Boulton & Paul, RAF training aids, aerial photography, and the Home Front.

As you all know we normally park up in groups of 75 saloons, tourers, ZT saloons and tourers and V8s.
This time however is different due to the fact that we are parking amongst the aircraft display itself.
Our normal parking arrangement is just not an option, so on the day members will be parked up in the order in which they arrive.

This will make it a lot easier to manage and provide great photo opportunities with the aircraft.
The other added bonus for those who travel in convoy, is that you will be able to park together,
we know this has been a problem in the past due to not being able to park with friends.

If you look at the picture above, all numbered areas will be used by us
as well as an additional two areas which are not pictured here. All the club's cars will be together and not split up in anyway.
The only slight division being the width of the road between AREA TWO and AREA THREE.
Further more, we have exclusive parking in the exhibit area, as members of the general public will be parked elsewhere.

Refreshments in the form of rolls, cakes, tea, coffee, snacks and soft drinks will be available on site,
however if anyone requires a hot meal, The Bucks Inn which is situated
at the entrance to the museum will be open for service.

Please ring Phillip at the Bucks Inn on 01986 892 382 to make a reservation in order to secure a table.

We won't have an indoor meeting as such on this occasion, but a gazebo will be up on the day
for registration, the club shop and to host the customary club raffle etc.
Come along and see old friends and meet new ones.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on short leads at all times.

The museum is operated as a charity and relies on donations to survive,
while entry is usually free, car club meets normally offer the hosts a contribution for the day.
For that reason we will be asking members to pay a nominal fee of £5 per person to attend.
For this you will also receive a free raffle ticket as well as helping support the museum's continued existence.

Please indicate your interest by posting in this thread. Entrance fees will be collected at the registration desk on the day.

Why are two National Meets located so far south? (Suffolk & Wiltshire) What about us in the 'North'? Both meets would mean a round trip of approx 800 miles for me (Edinburgh), and ovenight accommodation for one night at each meet. A lot of driving and expense! If the club is 'For The People By The People' then one National should surely be a bit further north, I'm sure there are a number of suitable locations.

Have a word with your RS as he can still arrange a national in his area as I understand it
