Default The 75 & ZT Owners Club 6th meeting

The 75 &ZT Owners Club meet 3rd and 4th of May

To all members

As we have already mentioned the next 'meet' will be held at Beaulieu in the New Forest on Sunday May the 4th. This year will be slightly different as we will be taking the event to two days with Saturday the 3rd of May being an informal meet and a social get together for those who wish to attend. Another break from tradition is that we will be collecting the entrance fee/s prior to the weekend as that will enable us to give Beaulieu and the New Forest pub plenty of notice of the numbers expected.

The weekend events will be as follows:

Saturday May 3rd

12.30 onwards............. All meet up at Bucklers Hard about two miles from Beaulieu. There will not be any organised parking due to there being a Caravan Club meeting there on that day but we have been assured by the owners that there will be more than enough car parking for all of us.

Buckler's Hard is a picturesque 18th century village on the banks of the Beaulieu River in the heart of the New Forest. Historically, it is famed as the place where some of Nelson's ships were built.

There will be no organised events at Bucklers Hard as its just a social get together and there is a small pub down by the river and a hotel restaurant should you need a meal. Later that afternoon we will be going our separate ways back to our hotels or bed and breakfasts to get ready for the evening's get together.

18.30 onwards............... We have arranged with the landlord of the Royal Oak at Hilltop just outside Beaulieu village to be invaded by Rover 75 and MG ZT owners for a nice evening in a typical New Forest pub.

The pub does a very high standard of bar meals including home cooking so if you wish to eat and drink or just drink you can do so in very nice surroundings.

Whenever you feel like it, go back to hotels etc and get a good nights sleep as next day you will wish you had!..........................

Sunday May 4th

10.15................Please arrive at The Beaulieu Motor Museum from 10.15 onwards and follow the 75 & ZT owners club signs to the arena area. Parking will be organised by us into the usual groups 75s, ZTs and lastly but not least the V8s. The arena is a hardstanding for 120 cars and comes with PA system and cones etc.

The 2006 meet at Beaulieu

We will have our marquee set up by the entrance to the arena so please come over to register that you are there and to collect the itinerary for the day and your registration pack. As you are all no doubt aware we have lost 'Gryphon' this year and to honour him from now on there will be 'The Gryphon Award' which will be the car of the year as voted by you the members so please collect your voting slips from us at the marquee.

During the morning there will be other things going on but as yet nothing has been put into the timetable as we are still working on them.

14.00........... Please come to the Beaulieu Lecture theatre where at approx 14.10 we will be presenting 'The Gryphon Award' and also telling the members of any club news and how we see the club going from here.

14.30 ........... again in the lecture theatre there will be a presentation by Xpart.

This will tell you the history of Xpart and how they see the future, the latest position on spares and the current position with reference to the Chinese and how Xpart will be fitting in with them etc. This is a very interesting presentation and well worth seeing. At the end of the presentation there will be questions from the floor so please get those questions ready to ask the Xpart representatives. Before and after the presentation there will be tea and coffee available so please have a cup of tea on the club!

Don't worry about your cars while you are in the lecture theatre as we will have people there keeping a very close eye on them but please remember to lock your cars when you leave them.

Ticket prices for the two day event will be £13.00 per adult and £6.50 for children (5-15)

Ticket prices for the Sunday only will be £11.00 per adult and £5.25 for children (5-15)

The two day ticket will give access to Bucklers Hard, Bucklers Hard museum of 18th century village life and on the Sunday Beaulieu Motor Museum, Palace house, James Bond exhibition, Beaulieu Abbey, monorail and vintage bus ride around the complex.

The one day Sunday ticket will give access to Beaulieu Motor Museum, Palace house, James Bond exhibition, Beaulieu Abbey, monorail and vintage bus ride around the complex.

We will be asking you to pay when you register to attend either the two or the one day event(s) Please wait until you see a post from Christopher explaining how to register and to pay.

Advice for Visitors with Dogs from the Beaulieu website

Dogs are welcomed at Beaulieu and are permitted within the grounds, but for the benefit of other visitors we do require that they be kept on a lead and under control at all times. Owners are also asked to ensure that no mess is left within the grounds, as this can be offensive to others and constitute a health risk, especially to our younger visitors. We provide scoops free of charge for disposal of mess - please ask for one on arrival at reception.

We regret that we do not allow dogs to enter the National Motor Museum, Palace House, Abbey, Brabazon Food Court, or on any of the rides. Please note that there is a special area available beneath the Motor Museum entrance where your dog may be left whilst you visit Beaulieu.

Please note no tickets will be sent out prior to the meet as we don't get them until a few days before the event. Tickets for the two days will be available from us at Bucklers Hard on the Saturday and on the gate for the Sunday

Really looking forward to the weekend, putting faces to "names". Apart from a few niggely bits I am well impressed with the R75, best car I've ever had the pleasure of owning or driving. A great pity things went south.....
