Default Legal question - Who pays (and yes, I already know the answer)

So, Mr back-from-the-dead-canoeman is going to appeal against his sentence. Bearing in mind that he pleaded 'Guilty': A) on what grounds can he possibly appeal - he pleaded guilty and was found guilty so what is there to debate? and B: who, as if I can't guess, pays for the appeal?

I should say he can, if given leave, appeal against the sentence, not the conviction.

He got 6 years and a few months - I wonder what he reckons the going rate for fraud of that scale should be then ?

Perhaps he will request a bit more as he has been a very naughty boy.

Well he did die, allegedly. Then he was resurrected (peed his old lady off, never a good move). Therefore I concur, Brian, it is.

re who pays - the legal aid system will no doubt come to his rescue as he has no money, but i remember that Maxwells sons got legal aid after their father drowned and they were prosecuted so anythings possible.

A few barristers get rich on legal aid and a certain Mrs Blair received a good few pounds from the system too !

So one third off automatically. If he keeps his nose clean, one third off. Should be eligible for parole by now
What has he got to complain about? He got off lightly IMHO
The system stinks!!

Both him and his wife are now appealing against the severity of the sentence given for crime committed.
Legal Aid has been permitted in both appeals, as would it be for any Criminal offence where no funds are readily available.
