we had 4 Rover 75s and one Zt in the family fleet.
Daughter was driving the wifes one which she got from us, nice car, 140,000km
but decided to sell it due to kids and getting a new toyota kluger.
I hated seeing it go as it was a great car but wife said no to taking it back !!!
Hope the new owner has alot of fun with the car.

I have a few things close to my heart...75's and Perth are two of them...love 'em both !!

where in perth did you stay?
I have a soft spot for Poole and Bournemouth.
That is one place i could spend alot more time over your way.

Mainly in the Kwinana, Coogee Beach area...yes, a few miles from Perth, but not a long way in Aussie terms. Freo boardwalk a favourite too, Cicerellos watching the sun set...amazing ...and pizzas at the Sail & Anchor, with a glass or two of Redback

Well looks like my wife is the proud new owner. Replaces her Nissan Maxima which served us well for a decade and 150 000 kms. I think the Rover and I will have a love hate relationship! Gave it a clean, replaced headlight bulb , changed engine oil & had a look around the internet & found this forum. So , shuttle shuffle, drains cleaned, pollen & air filter cleaned (yep I'm a cheapskate) ordered a spare key, emptied the water out of the boot, fitted new rocker cover breather hoses (longer & rerouted higher) but will need a catch can..., changed trans fluid. Next day she calls me up and says " I think I broke the passenger rear window "... Great- that sounds expensive. Pull door card off, impressed with the thick sound deadening, & English speaker! Tell myself do not get this black sticky goo all over the cream interior. Window is not broken, plastic thingy broken, cable fallen off pulley. Plug in switch, grab cable, press switch, oops wrong way, drop switch, cable wrapped around finger , will not do that again

Just strapped the window up for now. Tinkered with sunvisor mirror/lights ( epoxy ), rear interior light 'repaired', map pockets 'fixed', clear 5mm tube split to hold the drivers seat belt trim back in place, gorilla grip the lumbar seat knob back on, rear light seals swapped left to right ( probably not the problem but do not have to worry about rain for a while), attach carpet trim, remove bubbling rear tint, polish headlights... I am on a roll and having 'fun' !! Cut and polish when I get motivated. And then she complains about the aircon. It's 40 degrees what do you expect!! Oh engine cooling fan is not working... So... front end off , fan out and yep 2 brushes lots shorter than the other 2, commutator fairly worn, clean and slap it back together!! It works for now.

Alternator bearings sound horrible so that's next on the list, also radio display is now blank and key remote stopped working lol. But most importantly she does like the car ( & I can see why ) it cost less than my Hyundai getz and has 'character'. Rumour has it you can do the transponder coding? So maybe we can meet up soonish?

The rear window "plastic thingy" is used in many VW cars, pop around to your local dealer and ask for 1UO-837-583 - cost me less £2 delivered.

Fix the key remote board first by trying the re-sync procedure in the handbook, or main battery off half-an-hour, getting Toaf or contacting Genpk who I know has the resources to fix it.
