Clunky V6 Auto gearchange !!
Hello chaps, I thought I would share this one. This goes back to a thread I started a week or two ago regarding my Dads 75 2.5 Con SE that suddenly developed a spiteful banging gearchange (both up & down the gears). Took it to Steve at British Legends (01702 511123) this morn and it looks to be due to a failed gearbox support bush underneath the car. With the bonnet up the engine jumped at least an inch (probably more) when put in gear - not something you would see without a second pair of eyes possibly to check that. I expected it to be down to it requiring a change of gearbox fluid - which is overdue at 71k on the clock on a 2000 W plate. Think it's original fluid. Anyway the car goes in a week Monday to have both the bush & fluid done. Just thought I would share that in case anyone else has experienced this.
