I also have mirrors on both sun visors that light up and a drivers grab handle.

Did Rover not put back some of the bits they removed under project drive ?

I replaced the rear shocks on my tourer and noticed that the dynamic absorber was missing from both sides. Were these only fitted to the saloons?

27)
4th March 2002 / from VIN 250641 – 75 Diesel saloon with 16” & 17” wheels

The ‘Butile’ sound absorbent material was deleted from the rear parcel shelf. On vehicles with 16” & 17” wheels a ‘Dynamic Absorber’ was then required to reduce transmitted road noise to an acceptable level. This Dynamic Absorber was fitted to the base of the rear suspension dampers. In addition, all ZT models had the Dynamic Absorber fitted.

Short type

Dont know if it is project drive related or not but both my late 2001 and late 2002 cars have the short bolt. Rimmers diagram shows the long type.
My Spring 2001 (Longbridge) built saloon has the long bolt - I'd always assumed it wasn't the original as it seemed a bit odd! My Autumn 2001(Longbridge) built CDT tourer has the short bolt. I didn't know it was a deliberate change.

Unsurprisingly, I found the long bolt a lot easier to deal with when I had an early Tourer.
Bit of a pig to line up the smaller bolt with limited access.

Perhaps this is something you could ask xpart about, because in the rimmers diagram a long bolt is shown. This suggests that were you to order a strap from them it would arrive with a long bolt, which seems to be at odds with this being a project drive change when you would expect newly ordered parts to be the short bolt.

would be intresting to see if you order a strap what would turn up.i suspect just the strap as the bolt and clamps are separate parts.i have checked on mg rover part finder and the bolt p/no yfj100331 was showing as only three available.of which i now have one.

If you ordered the strap thats what you would get. No bolt. Thats a seperate item.

A couple of years ago I ordered the strap and bolt from Rimmers.
