Default Diff out for refurb

Took the opportunity to give the inaccessible bits a good clean and tidy up while the diff is out

It’s whining, was hoping it was a wheel bearing plus there’s always been a slight clonk from it so thought I’d get it all fixed properly

As you know Les, its quite a common fault on the diff, regular oil changes were the key.

Had it changed when I first bought the car and it’s not done many miles since. It’s got a fully stamped book Andy but was oil changed before would be a key question.

Phoned the guy repairing the diff and he says the bevel pinion bearings are very rough so not too bad a result thankfully Andy

Cracking condition underneath, wish mine was that clean!! BTW, does the V8 have a significantly different rear suspension compared to regular 75s? The rear upper arms look cast, much like the BMW versions rather than our tinplate easily rotted/rusted versions!
Hopefully will get round to visiting later in the year to see the beast, as i pass you regularly!
regards, Gary

Hi Gary, totally different rear axle and suspension, front is different too with unique struts. Pop in any time, you’re more than welcome
