Diesel takes Semi synthetic 10w/40 to ACEA A3 and B3.
Approx 6.75 litres (12 pints) Filter is the typical German type replaceable paper element. Unscrew the plastic cap on the filter housing (behind radiator drivers side above alternator) take out filter, fit new element, replace O ring and screw cap back on. You will need a 36mm A/F socket as the housing is plastic, and will deform if pliers or similar are used. |

Make sure you put plenty of paper towel over the alternator to soak any oil spills, they don't like oil.

Or, my favoured technique is to put a couple of double upped carrier bags under the filter housing then take filter out and straight into bags, no mess no fuss!

Or cover it with a couple of rags..... AND use the poly bag method!, just changed my alternator and about 80% sure it was me that caused it, massive job easily avoided with these few precautions.
PS..... make sure your dipsticks right in when finished! |
