Dark blue R75 V8 vanden plas
Brighton city centre yesterday morning had tinted windows all around apart from the front, chrome wheels (looked like pie dishes :S). Standard number plate, it was a 99 Reg. Very highly polished car. club sticker on back window, no tax disk holder at all! Also it had a chrome extended swept exhaust pipe!. Very nice, never seen it before and it was very quite for what I was expecting a V8 to sound like (it had all the badges, as well as a few grill badges of clubs I didn't recognize! I believed it to be a vanden plas as it was longer than the normal R75, but not as long as a miniature stretched limo! Weird motor, very lovely though, just didn't think they made R75's that looked that long (only the back passenger bit was stretched out by maybe three quarters of a foot!). Also it had a V style ariel on the lid of the boot hatch!

I do not think it would be a genuine V8 as I don't think they did a lwb and reg no if not personal also to old!

It seemed odd to me, but seeing how custom the vanden plas options were between rover and the vanden plas arm who knows! (as far as my research has coughed up rover had a separate arm that dealt with there specialist top of the line cars and would do anything for people that had enough money (like a lot of companies would do!) But i'm unsure how many were made, what extra options were available and what upgrades (if any) cars could get if the owner desired them.
It could be it was a later car with a earlier plate or someone that had fraudulent badges, but they didn't look like the type of people that would have done it..... The car was pulling into the Grand hotel (I don't have enough money to even look in the entrance.....I would be chased off site in my best looking attire!), dropped of two very smart looking people and then went and pulled into the waiting area. I got a fair look at it when he parked up, but then he drove off before I could have a decent look, he didn't look very impressed with me trying to take a look, probably though I was going to scuff his paint work by looking at it wrong

fairs, if i ever see it again, i'll get a better look and get a camera to keep in the car (for these types of circumstance!) I did have a better look at wiki last night as well as a few more forums and saw that the v8 was only available in like you said the limo type car not the vanden plas. Could it have just been a reconditioned model and it has a case of wrong badges on there? or is there any chance that it could have been spliced? (I guess it wouldn't have been officially done, but I guess it is possible!).
