Its a Cowley built car with the black sills and what looks like Club spec with a Peterborough reg number.
Can anyone satisfy my curiosity?
My mate has one just like it

I have always thought that the diesel engines were available from the launch of the car.

IIRC, the only engine options not available from launch were 1.8t and V8

The 1.8 turbo has been developed as a replacement for the 2.0 V6 later on.

it wasn't until later..launch models were the 160, 180 (Auto) and 190 V6s.

The diesel was '02/'03 - I've an audio clip on my PC that been there for years were Kevin Jones talks about a diesel engine "being introduced for the large car, the ZT".

Then again, maybe not, or maybe different for the 75 and ZT?

Look at the date....

The 75s were from day one, the ZTs were later on....

Determined to find and post the clip. I've also got a copy of AutoExpress with an article about the new variant, which is wearing 53s in the photos.
