Dashboard removal from a 75
Hi I have just joined and I need some help a member from a different site pointed me in this direction. I did not know there was a site dedicated to the ZT & 75. I am having all of the wood effect trim removed from my car, and replacing it with a piano black finish but looking at the airbag section, I am worried I could damage it or set it off, so my question is how do you remove the section of dashboard that contains the airbag?
Thanks Mike |

Hello Mike and welcome to the forum and club.
Not to sure of the best way to tackle this but it has been done many times, usually to put the wood in. Bit early in the day but experts will be along to advise. Have a nose round there is plenty to see and do. I'll move this thread into the main forum, it'll get more attention in there and sooner. |

Disconnect the battery, or remove the airbag system fuse (see your handbook for fuse location). Leave car for 15 minutes just as a safety period to allow the system to disacharge.
The air bag cover hinges downwards along the bottom edge - basically get your finger or wide flat tool in to a corner edge and gently pull out until the cover comes off its clips. You can then complete the removal. Let us know how you get on. Mike

Somewhere in among this bunch of old tarts swinging handbags there is the information you require, please excuse the level to which the forum admins have sunk, they are just such an embarrasment sometimes. |
