Hi.
Certainly the British cars got a slagging.
The Dolomite Sprint was a quicker car than the original 4 pot 320 and the handling of the 320 in the wet was atrocious! Sadly he was right about the Sprints reliability but the Dolomite 1850 my dad had for a while was a brilliant car, it was also quick enough and never gave us any problems.

I grew up with Triumphs. My dad had a 1300TC when I was born after that he had a Toledo, a Dolomite 1500HL, a Dolomite 1850HL and finally an Acclaim.

I don't remember any of them ever breaking down.

My earliest memory is "helping" my dad clean the 1300TC, sitting on the garage floor cleaning a hubcap. They were the chrome ones with the blue and red globe in the middle.
I was about 2years old and I can still remember it really clearly.

Just caught up with the second installment of this, the one about 4x4s

Near the end, when he was talking about the Audi Quattro, he reeled off a list of drivers that had enjoyed success with it, one of which was Oz Clarke! Thought I'd imagined it, so wound it back, put the subtitles on and he really did say.

So I then Googled to see if there is another Oz Clarke, who is a rally driver. Can't find one! In joke perhaps then? Or could it have actually been a mistake and he meant Roger Clark?

The Oz Clarke is a joke, they are mates and have made several series about wine, beer etc together.
