Default V8 conversion

Has anyone got any experience or knowledge of a V8 conversion for a 75, I would be an interesting project.

Thread moved into the general forum, redirect left in old.

Interesting thought, probably rather a lot more to consider than in the original idea .

Unless our OP has a fair few quid, I'd hazard a guess at not enough.

Sorry if this is a silly question , but you do know that MG Rover made a v8 version of the 75/ZT s in the 260 ?
Or are you thinking of putting the 260 engine in one of the lesser models ?

I would love to put the old school rover 3500 V8 into one, but my pockets are not deep enough

Yes, Rover has experience, they call it the 75 V8. There are a few around

If you're thinking of a V8 in a non V8 model...............good luck and hope you have money

The main problem is the standard 75 is front wheel drive.
So you would have to modify one of those into a RWD and get all suspension parts and the rear wheel axle sorted.

Can be done. But there are more interesting possibilities with some hot engine gearboxes for front wheel drive cars, which would be far simpler.

Of all the projects you could think of this one would more than likely result in you going bankrupt or ending up in an asylum . . . . probably both!
