Diesel Cruise Control Retrofit with no Loom
Hi Everyone,
Wondering if anyone can help me. I want to retrofit cruise control to my new ZT. Was a piece of cake on the 75 but turns out I don't have the plugs for cruise control in the ZT. My ZT is a MK1 CDTI and behind the blank panel in the dash (below the ATC controls), I seem to have a Blue plug (traction control) and a Green Plug (Rear Power Blind I believe) but no black plug for the cruise. I'm going to check behind the glove box this weekend to see if I can find a plug which goes onto the Cruise Control unit. If I haven't got any wiring for the cruise control at all, is it possible to create the wiring myself? I've been looking online and it seems like a few people have tried it but haven't seen any report of anyone finishing and having a fully operational cruise control. I've not been able to find any clear guidance on how to do it. Anyone able to help me on this? Cheers, Rick |

That would be strange to have traction pre wired but not Cruise...

Is it expected to have cruise pre wired if you also have traction pre wired? I was really hoping that the wiring would already be in place . I want to fit heated electric seats too but no wiring in place for that either.

I made up a loom for a V6 and there's more parts than a diesel's cruise.

To the OP if the wiring is not in place for the cruise, it's not really practical to retrofit on a DERV, the wiring is more involved than the V6 Brian |

Mine is exactly the same as OP .no wiring at the steering wheel or in the depths of the dash area...

I had a look at both wiring details and can't see why the diesel is not practical to retrofit cruise to. The V6 has a cruise ecu and the diesel does not so that's 12 wires/connections not needed. Also there's no pump so that's another 4 wires. But yes more connections to the cars ecu and of course it needs T4 work. I like your offer but your just too far away and I now have a facelift BCU waiting to fit.
