Auto wipers
Hi,
My auto wipers are pants! They either do not come on enough or too much! The adjuster on the wiper stick does not seem to anything either. Anyone got any ideas as to what is broken? Regards John |

My personal (bitter, twisted) view is that this is just technology which, like auto dipping mirrors, isn't really there yet…

I agree with Hogweed - I've not ever been that impressed by autowipers on other cars, although my experience has been limited to Peugeots - so not sure that that represents the current state of the art!
John, has your wiper autofunction deteriorated just recently, or is it alway been the same? I am sure you've checked all the obvious things already - I'd imagine that the autowiper function is critically dependent upon the signal sent by the windscreen-mounted sensor. Is it clean? Is it properly attached to the windscreen? Hopefully there is a simple cause to the current problems. |

How do they work, anyway? Is there some kind of moisture sensor on the outside of the screen, with tiny little wires going through to the inside?
