mum did the reading. cant recall all the books but Red Tag comes back by Fred Phleger and Little Indian by Margaret Wise Brown are two I recall and may still have.

She would read for hours on holiday

I read all the Famous 5 and am now a Clive Cussler fan. Another book I recall is Run Baby Run, about Nick Cruz I think by Billy Graham

The last time that another person read a book to me was when Mrs MSS and I were on an island in the Syechelles to get married.

We used to lie on a beach under a tree with the wife to be reading to me a classic - Lady Chattrley's Lover According to Spike Milligan.

I still remember the lines about "the look of puckered lips like a rouged chicken's bottom"

I got read to every night - including the whole three volumes of Lord Of The Rings (I dread to think how many nights that took!) which I have never been near since....or ever wanted to see the films......

I read to my 8 year old every other night, it used to be every night but he's 8..... enough said. To be honest I've enjoyed it more than him for a while, I particularly enjoy doing the voices which possibly explains his reluctance

Your age more like flip reels of "What the butler saw" and Lady McGreggors bodice and corset almanac...
