I have used them since I got the 75 and their quotes have always been very competitive, though I have had to give them a nudge a couple of times.

A few weeks before I renewed mine with them just last week, I suggested a friend ask them for a quote and the quote he got was like yours, absolutely laughable. Like me he is retired, a perfect claims record and a one time professional driver.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Cant fault eSure currently paying £242 for the 190 with mods declared

AF offered me horrendous quotes, they were only competitive insuring my Accord track car where the list of mods was as long as your arm.

I am a bit confused by what i have read so far. The posts talk of Adrian Flux "Underwriters" going bust/insolvent.

The role of an underwriter is to evaluate the risks of insuring a particular person or asset and then use that information to set premium pricing for insurance policies.

Most insurance companies use their own internal underwriters - but there are firms of "Re-insurers" that use independent underwriters to assess the risk an insurance company holds on its book of business so that that companies liability can be spread to other firms (The Re-Insurers)

So for me - the post stating that AF "Underwriters have become insolvent does not make that much sense.

If you look at the list of Insurers AF have on their "Panel" - it is extensive and still lists Midas:-

ABC (owned by LV, formerly Liverpool Victoria)
Ageas (formerly known as Fortis Insurance, they also own Castle Cover, Kwik Fit Insurance, Tesco Underwriting, Express Insurance & RIAS)
Allianz Cornhill (also own Pet Plan)
Aqua Underwriting
Aviva (formerly known as Norwich Union also trade as quote me happy, General Accident)
Axa (Axa Group also own Swiftcover and offer quotes as Lloyds TSB Insurance)
Broker Direct
Chaucer (owners of Chaucer Direct and REIS (Richard Egger Insurance Services))
Covea (formerly known as MMA & Provident insurance, owners of Swinton and Its4me as well as Bullseye)
Direct Group
E-Underwriting
ERS
Equity Red Star
Hagerty
Hawkwell
Heath (Heath Lambert also own Gallagher Heath, who also offer insurance quotes under the RAC brand)
Highway
Infinity Underwriting
Isle of Man Assurance Group
KGM
Kinetic
Legal & General
Mapfre Abraxas
Markerstudy (They also own Supercover)
Midas
Moorhouse
NIG (part of Royal Bank of Scotland, who also own Direct Line, Privilege and Churchill)
Novae
Novitas
Oak Underwriting
Ocaso
Octane
Playle Russell
Plum
Purely
Premier Underwriting
Prestige
Qudos
RSA (previously known as Royal & Sun Alliance, they also own More Than)
Sabre
Service
CCUA Towergate
Templeton Insurance
Trinity Lane
UK General Insurance Group
Walsingham
XPECT
XS Direct
Zenith
Zurich (formerly known as Eagle Star, they also own Endsleigh)

Thanks for that very informative post darcydog, clearly some have had differing treatment from Adrian Flux, but I have nothing but praise for them and the way they saved me over £200 the first year I used them and guaranteed me a agreed value for two years of £2000 in event of a write off.

Thanks again Phil for another good peice of detective work, it makes it entirely clear what the position is and those members who do not have positive experiences of Adrian Flux always have the option of going elsewhere all I can say is they have treated me fairly and saved me nearly £500 in last two years and with the agreed value on car, what's not to like

Cheers Mike. I read a lot of scare mongering stories on face book going round saying Adrian Flux had gone bust etc, peeps with their own agenda of running it down. My last post illustrated facts to help fellow members, not supposition or fantasy from arm chaired amateur lawyers

I've only had good experiences with Flux, they've been helpful when I've spoken to them, and I was suitably compensated for the one error I've had in my time with them.

I'm with Adrian Flux, or at least the on-line branch Fluxdirect. It was the only one I could find that offered 3rdPF&T at a decent rate. Phoned them today, she nearly dropped the phone. Kept me hanging while she went to the office manager and came back in a much better mood. It was the broker that had the trouble, the Insurer (who is also the Underwriter) is fine.
