Thanks Ronnie for confirming that it wasn't the fevered imagination of some weird southener, its been interesting hearing other lefties experience at school and attempts to 'normalize' them like they should be. I was appalled that the practise continued in the 70,s but thankfully we live in more enlightened times now. If no one minds perhaps now it's time to close the thread
