All of my figures were taken on a tank that I had used purely running around town, many journeys only a mile or two following a cold start, my auto box does get to a higher gear except top at around 30 mph and rarely do I have to rev above 2000 rpm in town, as I say the only job I have left is the thermostat as mine only runs to 82/3 degrees, I did find an improvement by using good diesel.
The figures were taken on brim to brim and also the IPK OBD which did prove to be quite accurate.
If I trashed it around town I am sure the figure would be much lower.

A 135 or 160 remap would be lovely - but one thing at a time eh?
You can try out the bypass just by removing the vac pipe and blocking it with a screw temporarily... clean the egr and it is very similar if not the same as an expensive bypass kit.

Thanks for that Klarzy - I'll give it a shot.

PS I presume you need a message centre IPK to get the engine temperature readings?

>>>my auto box does get to a higher gear except top at around 30 mph<<<

How? I wish mine would at times?? My Jatco auto box changes into 4th gear at about 40 mph, and will NOT change into it at a lower speed? and it goes into 5th at about 48 mph if driven very very gently.

My autobox changes into 3rd at about 30 mph+ but due to traffic, traffic lights, pedestrians, etc I rarely get to 30 mph when in town.

I dont know if you can do the same as i used to do with my Daimler V8, but if i wanted it to change up early, i used to boot it to 30mph then take my foot of the accelerator then only use very light pressure on the loud pedal. Used to work for me.

Thermostat and intercooler o rings will by far make biggest difference. Go for the genuine thermostat, it's been said time and time again the inline one is on the wrong side of the engine.
