350 as of this morning. If the magazines and other organisations that I am canvassing come good, we will be getting the message across to the interested, but silent, majority, but it will be several weeks before that comes to fruition.

Today, we have only climbed to 359 signatures, which is disappointing and quite a slow down. I have sent details to more magazines and to the FBHVC, the organisation set up to campaign on behalf of Historic Vehicles (Classics) and their 'Trade' supporters. They may offer help with our 'Future Classics' and I have also suggested that we need a similar non political organisation to support ordinary motoring groups, with the hope that they may branch out.

The 'scientists' have already indicated that brake dust (a worse problem now than it was with asbestos linings and drum brakes, where the steel discs also become sacrificial), plus minute tyre rubber particles, are major factors in thousands of people in London dying prematurely. They haven't indicated how the motorist is expected to deal with this, but possibly by dispensing with brakes and wheels altogether!

I regularly see construction workers filling the sky with concrete and granite particles, containing silica, from their disc cutting equipment and seeing that London gets most of the construction and building work these days, perhaps this is the cause of the health scare. I did see local Telford construction workers using disc cutters recently and no dust was coming out, presumably it was being vacuumed into a collection bag.
