Default Boot light failure?

The lamp in the boot has gone, changed the lamp connection looked good. Anyone had this before, only thing I can think of is the wiring.

Try a second bulb, or test the first on a 12v supply.

if not it's probably a wiring fault. Is the front interior light working.

Check the earth bolt in the boot as well

Tried a 5W bulb that didn't work, the front interior light has always worked. The rear light has never worked, I never thought there was one until I came on here. All the connections looked clean as a whistle. Whereabouts is the earth bolt?

I put a new bulb in mine today as there wasn't on there. Opened the rear seat pannel to check that it gone out. Guess what it was still on. Can any of you tell me where the little button is that switches it on and off? As I can't find it.

It's part of the boot latch assembly via the BCU

you will find that the boot light stays on along with the interior ones for about 15 secs. but will not go out if the door is open (ie: whilst checking through ski hatch)
get inside car with doors closed then check through ski hatch you will see it go out with interior lights...
