Ah ok so it’s a completely empty case with just a cut blade that you’ve got? I’m assuming the key doesn’t start the car? The PCB is for central locking the Transponder is for engine starting. I can provide an entire key, supplied cut and programmed for £90. I would need the car to do it.

Hi everyone,

Anyone know if a new transponder and circuit board for a LR Discovery 2 would work for a MG ZT. Physically they look the same although the circuitry seems a bit different.

Also, I need a microswitch for the circuit board.

Alternatively, does anyone know where I can get blank transponder chips and circuit boards? Also it needs to be 315MHZ.

Many thanks,

John

The landrover keys I have seen on ebay have ID73 transponders which are not suitable for Rover 75 or MG ZT. You need ID44 (PCF7930 or PCF7935). These must be programmed to your EWS. Therefore you must remove your EWS and send it for matching a transponder or have your car present and EWS removed in order to match a transponder.

I have a couple of PCF7930AS transponders, the original type that are present in the original keys, not Chinese clone transponders, these are £35 each and includes programming - you would need to send your EWS to me though.

I have two 315Mhz remote boards ( I also have a couple of 315Mhz receivers), I am selling the remotes for £30 each, which includes UK mainland postage.

These are 'new old stock' not refurbished, second hand or Chinese clones. Therefore you can be sure that they have the quality micro switches, as they are 100% original remotes.

PM me if interested in the above.
