I understand about apps on phones although I don't have an iphone or anything like it. I'm just curious about this app, how it works and what it does.

I agree wholeheartedly with those saying the best camera is the one you have with you. I would also say the best photo is the one you like and never mind anyone else. But if you want to get into photography that's a different ball game altogether.

Yeah camera phones are no match even for a modest 'true' camera, although many take better video than point and shot digital cams.

They can take some very good pictures, but tend to need very good lighting and a stable platform. My Galaxy S2 phone cam can match my Fujifilm Finepix 12MP digital camera given the right conditions, but is no match in low light.

Some of the Sony's have a good lens, but I agree, a phone camera is no match for a proper camera.

My dads into photography (used to run a photography shop / studio etc around 20 or so years ago when camera's had this thing called film in them lol.

He won a new Fuji camera for one of his photo's taken a year or so ago.
