Check out my post no 81 on this thread, I have set out the criteria for the earlier diesels.

They would seem to have tightened up on the maximum opacity values and maybe erroneously judging from my MOT test last month, required new test equipment to be bought?

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I Just found this photo of the FL1 I had when that passed it's MOT same engine as our R40, I am sure it will be the same this year in the new owners hands will try and find some of my old tourer and my MGZT which is petrol.

Also hope my FL2 will pass this year as well.

Just had my diesel 75 MOT’d and passed on 0.06 emission. That was with EGR bypass, xpower upgrade, new upgraded PCV, new maf sensor, and a bottle of redex in the tank with an Italian tune up for good measure.
No reason why a well maintained diesel with the power upgrade shouldn’t pass. Thanks to Bigruss for the upgrade by the way.
However she did fail on front wishbone ball joints with significant play on the n/s. oops!

Such low smoke figures require some proof in the form of a photo of the certificate
