Rear Interior Light Fix
My rear interior light unit fell apart today, I should have known better from my previous 75's regarding the breaking plastic moldings.
Previous owner has obviously been there before me and tried to melt the plastics etc, which all fell apart today. A quick fix all took a total of 5 minutes, and the light unit will never break again. I fitted a small angled bracket and job is done, stronger than strong... Last edited by Dallas; 7th April 2015 at 17:03.. |

Its an shelf fixture bracket, used for retail shop floor fixtures.
Due to working in retail for 20+ years, I had a bag of these lying around somewhere, I found this one on its own in my shed. If I can find the others, I will send you one. |

Yes please, the plastic clips on mine disintegrated some time ago. You may be able to sell a few of these as it's a common problem.

The newer ones are re-designed now and are aluminium and are longer where it slides in on the side that normally breaks on the older type that has 2 short plastic prongs.

Hi Bill, there are two aluminum prongs on one side, and two plastic prongs on the other (the prongs that break).

Yes, its the same as the one I have pictured above.
The side where you see I have fitted the metal bracket is the side the long plastic legs had broken off, on the other side is the aluminum lugs. I think all saloon light units are the same, the one you have pictured its build dated is 10/07/01 Last edited by Dallas; 7th April 2015 at 19:51.. |
