Advice for a friend Fuel Issue
Hi can anyone advise where the pipe with the blue end goes or does it just sit in the bottom of the tank ? Thanks

No expert, but I'll try to explain it as I see it. I have an old V6 pump and filter unit with the interconnections, etc. so the blue bit is familiar.
It's one of the static venturi pumps described in the write-up. It does indeed sit on the bottom of the tank on the nearside, but it's clipped into position on the filter casing. The blue unit has a stiff wire attached to it, on the end of which is a flat plastic slide/clip. The clip slides into a receiver on the filter casing. This holds it in the correct position. The wide bore pipe from the venturi is the scavaged fuel return to the swirl cup in the bottom of the pump housing. The end just clips onto the top of the pump case and fuel pours out and into the case. (This looks different from my drawing). The ribbed pipe is the pressure feed from the pump to the flilter. There's an electrical connection between the two which has a push-in connector midway between the two. I'll post some photos later if it will help. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 7th April 2015 at 12:42.. |
