Fitted the new front lower arms, and looked in dismay at the rear subframe and looked to see how the odds of having to drop the subframe were stacking up.
I decided to wash my hands and leave it for the day, I need to find my endoscope to look inside of the new rear silencer before I commit to chopping off the old one. So I took my dog for a walk instead Brian |

Removed the head today to be greeted with a nice layer of black silicone.
What is it with these white 1.8s and black silicone, after a lot of cleaning it’s ready for assembly.

Drove to Sheffield from Leeds to view a red Classic KV6 daloon as a possible spares or repair job, but sills rotten was the final decider. It's a very early car due to go on ebay again, I have posted a longer report in the general forum.

Err, understatement of the day methinks
Only took 4 hours to do one arm on Chris's barnaclemobile, christ on a bike, sometimes these damned things are sent to try us So it's still on the lift, and having so many cars and only one your wife can drive is a tad embarrassing Part exchange with a scrappage scheme has never been more inviting |

I'm trying to weld in replacement rear sills and plates around the jacking points on ramps down here. You are spot on though Bri - a scrappage scheme is looking rosier by the minute. |

Not today but during the last weeks I gave my engine bay a little brush-up using steel wool, lots of rags, brushes, cotton pads and sticks, pliers, tweezers, proxxon ibs multitool, WD40, polishing creme, plastic cleaner, silicone spray and autoglym super resin polish and gloss protection. Afterwards I replaced lots of scruffy bolts, nuts and washers with stainless steel ones. The result seems not too bad for a nearly sixteen years old engine. Thanks to Mr. Teflon and Mr. Nev the Bear for the inspiration.
