Default Leather Gearknob With Chrome Insert

Part number : UKJ100570LNF

Could anyone tell me anything about these?

What trim level were they fitted to?

Any particular years? Only later cars, for example?

Cheers

They were an optional extra on all automatic 75s on mark 1s. I think there was another chrome selector available on later 75s. They're worth very little, as I discovered, and you can buy brand new ones for £12 or so. I might fit one to my ZT soon, if I can scrape up some pennies.

Ok, I've ordered one from Rimmer's so, I've seen everything they've got to say!

It's not from an automatic either! It's a manual knob.

Were they just an optional extra?

The Chrome/Leather [Ash Grey] Gear Knob-Manual was available for sale in the 1999 Acessories Brochure, cost £50

I have no information as to what models the above gear knobs were fitted.

Most brochure pictures that show the gear knobs are either Black/Ash Grey or Wood /Ash Grey.

The manual gear knobs were all the same price, except for the All Wood which was £65

I do like my personal line optional extra Neptune/Walnut/Chrome Auto selector, really compliments the walnut wheel.

Should the leather on the wheel not be Neptune too?

The standard wheel in a personal line would have colour coded rim so why not the wood and leather one?
