Hi Charles.
It's been great talking to you on the phone, below are few photos of how to remove and refit the front bumper, make sure that the front edge pops into the yellow nib by a quick tap with your palm. 1 2 The side should just be slightly bent in then it should pop into place making it flush. 3 4 5 6

Hi
Thanks Arctic, and thank you so much for all your help. With all your support the issue is now fixed. To help others..... It seems I have the 3 speed 4 wire fan and the issue was the larger of the three (low speed I believe) relay in the fan PCB/Relay box. A really easy swap out but only thanks to the amazing support of Arctic and loads of photos (and the spare part he had!) Also a big thanks to the how to guides on here on taking the car apart to get to the box... First time for me taking it apart but made much simpler with the guides. Charles |

In your first post you reported that the fan stops shortly after switching off the ignition. That's not consistent with a relay failure. I suspect that you may have a poor soldered connection or cracked track on the PCB which was re-made when changing the relay flexed the circuit board. I'd keep it under observation if I were you. Hi Simon
Yes, absolutely the only thing I did, other than checking the condition of the wiring was replace the larger one of the three relays.... The order was.... 1. Disconnect all wires and remove whole box 2. Remove PCB and all relays from the box 3. Loosely reconnect to the car without the box and test.... Result: fault remained 4. Replaced larger relay and test - Result: fixed 5. Replaced PCB and relays in to the box and mounted the box back in the fan housing and tested again. Result: Still all OK 6. Re-assembled the car. I haven't really been far in the car yet, indeed prob less than 10 miles but so far all is OK, but I totally take on board your point.. I'll keep you all posted. Charles |
