Amazing how much you can get paid for kicking a bag of air around a field isn't it !!
I just think the amount of money footballers get paid is ludicrous. Sorry to the OP for that little rant. |

Sorry.
I can't be critical of him, he's on the Transplant and donor lists, he won't have a tattoo because it might stop him being a donor. I'd say that he's a good lad under the makeup, perhaps everyone judges by the earnings?

I think the problem we have is, and I include myself in this, we can have opinions tainted by the press, and how people are portrayed in it. The media are quite quick to point out failings in people, it sells. Take the time he crashed his Ferrari. For all we know he may have been swerving to avoid a little fluffy kitten in the middle of the road? If it had be him in a Focus, there would be no press on it. But because he has all this money and media attention, it is easy to spin it to look like a spoiled brat, especially after the Rooney incident. For all we know, he could be the nicest possible guy with lots of money. Thing is, we dont know him personally, at least, but he makes for a good villain.
Think Schumacher/Hill, Senna/Mansell, Piquet/Mansell, Hunt/Lauda, we all love a good national villain. Senna is probably the best example. We all know what a villain he was, yet he did (and posthumously does) great things through the Senna Foundation, yet at the time we all loved to 'hate' or criticize him. But when he became part of the Williams team, the underdog all out British team, that criticism and 'hatred' subsided. It was only after his death that we all came to know of the great things he did as a humanitarian.
