You stated halfway through your first post you had a remap done.........you then went to say you done 'breathing' and 'exhaust' mods afterwards..............have you taken the car back since these rather large changes to have the car re mapped or am I reading into your initial post too much?
Myself I have a ZS180 with the 2.5 KV6 and the engine runs slightly rich because I have done the above mods but not taken the car to have a remap.......I am sure if I had the remap done my car would run leaner, more power and torque as the map is adjusted and probably better MPG too. Just a thought and want to check all possibilities. |

Hi Mintee, it was one from the following linkhttp://www.ccctech.co.uk/ it wasn't cheap at around £300 but the guy comes to you, and in about 30 - 45 mins transforms the performance of the vehicle, certainly recommended

With the ZS...........I don't know if it is the same with the ZT (maybe another member will know) ............there is a small part of letting the ECU learn the engine if you disconnect the battery for a while then re connect and turn the car over letting it idle for a while before taking it for a steady drive........then gradually use the whole rev range driving harder through the gears. It is this option I have taken as my car has become more modified and works to a small extent. The right thing to do though is to take your car back to the tuner and have the map interogated and remapped to accomodate those two rather large mods of better air flow and exhaust flow. I would imagine this will result in a cleaner running car more than doing anything else. Best of luck and keep us all posted! Last edited by Boot Hill Bandit; 6th June 2010 at 16:24.. |

Typical example is with breathing and exhaust mods going up from 177bhp up to approx 200bhp by interogating the cars standard ECU. You are more than welcome fella just make sure to keep us up to date with any developments |

my old car alfa 156 2.4jtd (re mapped to 210bhp) failed its mot on emissions and i had similar to you with black smoke when i booted it.
i took it to Carwoods and they sonicly cleaned all the turbo bits and pieces and it passed with flying colours on the retest, also it went like sht off a shovel after it aswell. not saying this will cure your problem but maybe worth looking into |

I've got a 140,000 mile old car and did the Synergy, EGR and airbox mod and habitually run with 2T and it smokes less than it did as a standard car when I got it. |

I have had my cdt for a year now, i would like a synygy thing but for the moment, still enjoying the longer drive to be honest. if and wen it breaks i will definatly fix , but if it does break, it will not be lack of general maintanance. as with all cars, you look after them, they will do the same.
Regards Mark |
