battery charger was put on battery with 10.2 volts and 2 1/2 hours later still not fully charged

will house chargers put out 13-14 volts like alternator and will alternator/house charger only put out what battery will take also why would lights flash for flat battery if it has 10volts or does it assume its flat because not enough power to crank engine

ok after charge car reads 11.2volts but still charging at 11.4-11.59 but when i checked bat on house charger it stil said it was needing charge and multimeter held at 12.3 volts but indicator on top of battery was black not green also label on battery read varta de va0 ij0915 105ae 12v 340a 70ah 570a so am i correct in thinking that isnt right battery for car

Hi Humpty,
Why not just get a new battery and see what happens. One day , without warning, my cdt wouldn't even open. Cost £65 for a new battery, no problem since. Without the help and advice off the guys from here, I would have panicked. If a new battery doesn't work, further investigation will be needed. Good luck !

im just unsure i dont have much money or want to waist money but as i said it says its holding 12volts but car says 11.2-11.4 and charger at home says it needs a charge but altho everything says battery is full the indicator on top is black and the amp rating on top i dont think is what the car is ment to have

i am having problems with my car leave it stood for 4/5 days and battery flat.i have two batteries one i keep fully charged and i will tell you your battery will not be fully charged unless you leave it on trickle charge for at least 36 hours,if your indicator is showing black it is fully DISCHARGED it needs to be glowing green to be fully charged.

do not know mate,just tap the indicator gently with your screwdriver handle to see if it changes colour.trikey has been helping me with mine and he checked battery and i think it was 12?volts but not enough to start car,i had no flickering lights but turned key and just got click click.
