I know Brian lol. In fairness to the OP, I was a bit presumptuous, as whilst the HK tweeters have a cap fitted (for Simon's benefit - a capacitor is used in series as a basic high pass filter - the video explains the benefit, hence its inclusion). However, since DMGRS's recent posts about a supply of soft dome tweeters, I assumed them to be these. The images of these tweeters do not show any form of low frequency protection (of which I may be wrong), and granted, whilst soft dome tweeters are more forgiving than a more rigid material (and rather nice sound too I might add), they will still fail over prolonged use with a full range signal (you can guess how I know this lol, twice ).

Coincidentally, I replaced half a pair of speakers yesterday (rain stopped play). But whilst I had been looking at replacements, I have been scouring sites for reviews etc, and in one of the youtube suggestions in the RH column, was THIS video. (I can recommend THESE, but am experimenting with the tweeters from my last pair wired with their crossover and the tweeters of the new pair attenuated with their own crossover in the unused midrange slot of the door pods - quite impressed so far)

Ultimately though, as I said, they are not my tweeters, so I dont really care . At least any potential failure due to ignorance (or should that be arrogance?) wont be as catastrophic or expensive as other components.
