if you can find an email address for the ceo, email them. You have tried the helpdesk and found them I assume unhelpful
Some may think emailing the CEO is ott but the help desk has not helped and your TV does not work.

If the TV has the facility to force an update during switch-on I would try that in case the previous update failed for some reason.

Managed to sort it.

Found an app on the XDa developers site which deleted all old data .

then downloaded to only PHilips update file I could find again , figured out how to get into the Android Recovery mode, really fussy to do .

then ran both those files and it started up again .

the only issue now is the Playstore version in the TV is now too old, and refuses to allow a google login.. so can't get any apps at the mo' ..

But saved 400 quids or so for a new tv

I assume you have tried this - https://www.philips.co.uk/c-f/XC0000...ips-android-tv Perhaps you could manually update the playstore by downloading an apk using Laptop/Desktop, copy to USB stick and plug in to TV. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...-2-31-release/

Tried all those and others and neither of them work as the TV in that case will just not accept any password.

Also the Tv will only see a USB to look at media files. no other types and the tv's naff browser will not even install off the web as play store reports theres no device registered on that account cos I can't log on

But have sorted it ... had to log into the Tv's Gmail account ( it got is own) using my PC , then switch on the 2 stage security, and when logging on the TV it uses this extra security confirmation on my Phone/computer to get in.

Now the only other issue is BBC Iplayer , its in the TV's Philips app store, it will install ok , run it and it reports its not available on this device please try later

Don't ya love technology ..

Did get this sorted out sort of .

From Philips ...Iplayer for some reason is not suitiable for this tv despite it being in the store and it downloads and installs , the 43 inch and 65 inch model are ok though ?
Smells like BS .. and they can't be Ar$ed to sort it .. rarely needed it ..

Got into the system by using my phone to set up 2 stage security on the email and it then bypasses the tv onto the phone to do the once only login .

No - wrong diagnosis.

Your problem is the wife. Get rid and everything will be fine.
