Default Misdescribed Car???

I thought I might take a punt at buying another car and getting rid of my Trophy Blue Tourer.
Anyway of we trot round the M25 to Burnham on Crouch. to have a look at a 75 Contempory SE estate looked a nice car on EBAY, but very little else but four pictures, only 995 put in an offer of 900 accepted.
Description was fully loaded, with sunroof/ traffic warning which was discontinued in 2012, oil on top of engine cover he said it was water I said raining oil now is it, no sunroof/ headlights cloudy as ..... / Air Con fan turning itself on in 15 second pulses/ Engaged first gear definite clonk when pedal lifted. he says you let the clutch out to quickly????

Go away says I, 160 miles wasted!!! never again I will stick with my Trophy Blue Diesel better the devil you know.

Julien.

There are some real idiots on fleabay, as if your just going to jump in and drive away after paying the cash. If I have looked for cars I need to see many pictures on there and a comprehensive write up, that tells me the seller is genuine and wants to sell a car - sadly they are getting less and less now.

Totally understand were your coming from, when I looked for my Rover I must have viewed about 8 others all described as immaculate, most were far from it one way or another, I possibly covered around 800 miles looking at these totally immaculate vehicles only to be disappointed.

Sorry dude I would have put more, but I rang the guy and asked about the belts and he says 'It's not belts is a chain on these' I said it wasn't as I have had a 2.5 and still have a diesel he went very quiet and just said 'I expect it to go soon anyway'. I knew I was wasting my time..so didn't go any further..Agree from the outside it did look quite tidy, a damn site tidier than ours anyway..

It's gone now and replaced by a messed with P reg 3 series coupe for £650..

Could have popped in for coffee, less than a mile from my front door.

Sorry to hear this Julien.... Really annoying!

But some ads do make me laugh - the ones that say it's absolutely 'Mint'....... Except for the small dent in the passenger door, oh and the marked bumpers. Also I think the A/C needs re-gassing and let me know if you're coming because I think the battery is stuffed... But other than that it's 'Mint'.....

Yep, there's plenty of nails out there. I usually buy 'fixer uppers' to enable me to work on and learn - but to travel a long way for a car described as 'mint' must be infuriating.

Sorry to read this Julien, perhaps you should have considered this one and got a club member to view it for you. Bit of a trek for you I know, but if a local club member approved it, it would be worthwhile.

Julien, if you are seriously interested in this one I can pop out and have a look at it.
