Default Mirror fix

Today i got round to sorting out the North, South, East, & West on the mirrors, which had stopped moving in all the directions.

Simple fix that is already known cleaned the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, and a rubber eraser on the end of a pencil.

Both mirrors now work a treat

Just done mine on both the Silver Machine and the Green Goddess.

Considering how tightly each part is connected I'm amazed that so much dust can get in to affect the mirrror controls.

Also learned that WD40 does not do the job at all well, had to give that one a second clean with White Spirit!!

Quick blast with the jet wash to get all the bird muck off, think they've used it as target practice

Washed the Connie ready for the trip down to Trikey’s to take some important medication for someone in Ukraine with glaucoma. Hope the French let it through. Wish I was taking part in this event so I could see friends of ours in Bydgoszcz Poland. Never mind eh.

When the manual says the 2 bolts holding the rear brackets are difficult to see they ain't kidding...

Remove the fire wall plate and you will have good access to the above bolts.

Default iacv

after cleaning the iacv last week I've taken Mo for a quick drive round the streets.
Pointer still bouncing, but only between 850 and 900 rpm.
I'll clean it a second time at some point, but it's better than it was.

Evening All,

Took advantage of the dry weather (while it lasts!) and replaced the compensator with the R50/R53 cable holds solid on 3 clicks now, (thanks to Arctic's "How to") .... So much easier when you take the front passenger seat out!! which also cured the airbag light on the dash.... so win - win all round.

Love it when jobs go smoothly!

Cheers

Maurice

Yesterday took some expensive medication for glaucoma down to Trikey for the trip to Poland .
350 miles round trip, and all went well. Average mpg over a 1000 miles was 25.5. On the way back, used the on board computer readout, and managed to end up with 42.7 mpg. Travelling between 60-80 mph. There are 113.000 miles on the clock, so it ain’t to bad. Just shows the difference between local travel and travelling over a distance. There was plenty of traffic but it was all moving very well. Hope the trip to help those poor Ukrainian people helps to alleviate some of their horrible difficulties. What a wicked world we live in.
