It does work for some people, a mate had a 4 year old Qashqai that was blowing badly out of the dipstick and the Nissan dealer diagnosed it had probably cracked a piston ( common fault apparently) so several thousands of pounds. He got a quote from We Buy Any Car and it was only a few hundred shy of a what he thought an A1 was worth. He took it over and had an immediate payment for a fee.
When they examined the car they looked for cosmetic defects and that is went around the car park, they didnt even lift the bonnet. We had put a couple of O rings on the dipstick so it was not blowing. |

Just scrapped my 75 for £333 - corrosion to subframes, rear wheel arch, sills, abs light on, airbag light on, air con snuffed it, leak in the boot, scratches to bodywork, cruise control nackard, needed 4 new tyres... I absolutely loved her but one day I was driving along thinking about how I'd describe her honestly if I was to sell her and suddenly realised I was driving round in a heap of junk! Got a quote online, they turned up a few days later, not bothered about the missing android unit I'd taken out and the money was in my account two hours later. I asked the guy why scrap was worth so much he said, 'This Govt scheme is fantastic innit mate they even do the paperwork'.

Don’t sell it to WBAC I will give you a straight £200 and won’t haggle for a better price on collection!

Yep, I went online couple of weeks ago about one of my 75's and the scrap offer price was £330. For my Omega, £337. I only did this out of interest and have no intention of scparring either of the Rovers. Nor the Omega at least this year. |

I have found the same - give them a stiff ignoring and they will come back offering more. Although when I had to sell my ZT260 in 2018, they wouldn't even give a value! I was to tempted to report them to Trading Standards...
